Family and friends,
October is going by so fast; it's scary! Hehe
No one here is decorating much for Halloween so that's a bummer. Hopefully it isn't the same for Christmas. It's bad enough that it doesn't snow here so you would think that the least they could do is throw something artificial out on the front porch. We'll see I guess. Tradition is dying, evidently...
It was a great week, as always! We had our first district council and long story - short - it was long. Oops. We talked about teaching by the Spirit as the discussion was split into four main topics; Being Worthy, To do and To Be, Humility and Priesthood Power, and Love and Harmony. It was a great time and there was lots of participation. We had interviews with President Pingree during it so Sister Pingree sat in on the council which made it more exciting. President ended up participating at the end and Elder Ramirez and I did a role play with him. His name was Kyle and he was a guy with a very stuck perspective. He also had serious concerns with political issues so it was interesting. At the end we decided as a district what we would do better to teach by the Spirit. And here is the miracle!!!!
Earlier in the council we had one of the Elders give a training on humility and at the end he invited us to become more humble by letting God prevail in our lives. President Pingree was not in the room at the time, as he was doing his interviews. But as we discussed at the end of the council about what we can do better, we decided on becoming more humble by being more willing to have our lessons we prepare be adjusted by the Holy Ghost according to the needs of the people we teach. Also having that principle be visible with anyone we talk to. And then later record how we saw that we are not alone in the work. Anyway, President Pingree then goes on a small rant and somehow ties it in with the other Elder's invitation on letting God prevail as he specifically mentioned the same things the Elder did. Both ideas were connected and we all just had our minds blown. It was an incredible moment. So that's all for this week!
Take care!
